Structural Insulated Panels are a hit!
Structural Insulated Panels (SIP) were a big hit this past weekend at the Fort Lauderdale Florida Home Design and Remodeling Show. Innova Panel introduced its energy efficient Eco- Friendly building products which have been engineered for Florida Hurricane conditions. Traditional SIPs are a wood based OSB product and have been in the market place since the 1950’s. Due to Florida’s climate conditions and termite issues the traditional OSB SIP’s has little Florida market use in past years. At the show, Innova introduced its James Hardie Cement Fiber Board SIP and its Magnesium Oxide Board SIP panels. Innova has also special engineered a plywood / MGO SIP roof panel for the Dade County housing industry as use of OSB is not allowed by code in the Dade County area or any other jurisdiction adopting the Dade County Code.
Show attendees were amazed that code approved energy efficient, Eco-Friendly SIPs are now available in Florida as an approved product. Innova offers its energy efficient panels to the building industry and also uses its Innova Panels to manufacture energy efficient panelized housing, light commercial and specialty use buildings. A home or commercial building constructed with the Innova building envelope will cost much less to operate and maintain.
Because of its extraordinary insulation ratings, innovative air-tight design and efficient engineering, a building constructed with the Innova building envelope will use 30 to 70 percent less electrical consumption over the useful life of the building. This is a substantial savings over 30, 40, 50 or more years of reduced electrical consumption and energy savings. Innova manufactures its energy efficient building products in Miami Florida.
